Using the telescopic handler the tile batten is loaded up to roof level
The scaffolders have returned to build a loading bay extension onto our scaffolding surround. This will give easy access to lift the roof tiles up in crates up onto the roof level scaffold. This small adjustment is much more efficient as it avoids the tiles being carried up ladders by Storm Roofing.
Tile battens are fitted horizontally to the roof. These are spaced so that the top of each tile can be nailed to the batten with the right spacing to create a headlap over the tile beneath it.
Battening of the catslide roof
The horizontal tile batten is now complete across the whole of the roof ready for the tiles to be loaded into position by Storm Roofing next week
